About me

Capturing the Landscape, One Frame at a Time

Hi, I’m Travis Ritch — a landscape photographer based in the heart of northern Utah, just outside the Great Salt Lake in Syracuse. Surrounded by rugged mountains, open desert, and the ever-changing shoreline of the Great Salt Lake, I’ve found endless inspiration in the wild, untamed beauty that makes this region so unique.

I specialize in capturing the landscapes of Utah with a focus on seasonal transformation, cinematic composition, and storytelling. My photography blends wide panoramic vistas with the smaller, often-overlooked details — from moody skies over Antelope Island to frost-dusted grasses in the Great Shorelands Preserve.

My Philosophy

I believe landscape photography is more than just beautiful scenery — it’s a way to connect with place and time, to pause and see the world with intention. Whether I’m hiking into the Wasatch, flying my cinematic drone, or kneeling down to frame a wildflower, I’m always looking for that quiet intersection of light, texture, and feeling.

My work is rooted in patience, minimalism, and a respect for nature’s rhythms. I strive to create images that don’t just show where I’ve been — but invite others to feel like they’re standing there, too.

Local Roots, Wide Vision

While my primary focus is on Utah’s diverse terrain — from red rock to alpine — my lens has followed me to other awesome and unique places. I’m especially passionate about building a portfolio titled "Utah Landscapes in Every Season": a personal project that captures both the grandeur and the subtle shifts that define this land throughout the year.

I live in Syracuse with my girlfriend and our blended family. Between parenting, work, family, etc., I try to carve out time — sometimes in the quiet of early morning, sometimes in the golden calm before sunset — to chase the light, chase stillness, and make something worth hanging on a wall.

Let’s Connect

If you’re interested in prints, collaborations, or just want to talk landscapes, I’d love to hear from you. You can view my latest work on the Gallery page, or follow me on Instagram at @travisritchphotography.
